Your child will suddenly get a high fever of about 39°C (102°F), without any other symptoms. As the child's temperature returns to normal he'll develop a rash of pale red spots. Roseola infantum is most common in children under the age of two years.

What to do

Seek medical advice to get an accurate diagnosis. No specific treatment is needed, other than keeping the fever down.
